Coaches


Our coaches are Michelle Golles for the older children and Missy Stockner for the younger children.  Here's a little bit of into for you all about each of them:

Coach Michele - Michele Golles moved from Dearborn , Michigan August 2006 to teach middle school science. She swam year-round for 18 years during which she swam for her high school team and was a 4 year scholarship swimmer for Wayne State University in Detroit . Michele has coached summer league in Michigan and is also Co-Head Coach for Brooke Point High School in Stafford . Coach Missy - Missy Stockner has been around swimming since she was 8 years old. She began as a year round swimmer with Solotar Swim Team and swam there until her sophomore year in high school. She then swam for the Huntsville Swim Association in Alabama , and for Virginia Tech as a freshman. She has coached summer league teams in the past, beginning when she was in high school, and is enjoying the opportunity to coach Stingrays swimmers. She hopes to not only help them improve in their skill level, but to share with them her passion for swimming.

Swimsuits 

We will be ordering team suits and caps on June 3, rain or shine.  It is important to have a team suit. If you have little children who are really just starting out, you don't have to get a suit.  Often the sizes are not small enough to fit them.

For those of you who swim on year-round teams or high school or college teams, you cannot wear your other teams' suit or cap to an RSL meet.  You can turn caps inside out if you are in a pinch.  The goal is to promote the RSL in any photos or newspaper photos.


Volunteers

Parents are required to help run the meets, both home and away.  A list of positions is listed below.  The RSL will offer training as the season approaches.  Unlike many other teams, we do not need to man the concession stand at our home meets.
